We are proud to announce that Districts 99 and 201 have joined together to offer a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) opportunity for 8th grade students who have exceeded the State Standards in Mathematics as determined by the NWEA Measures of Academic Progress assessment. Our newly developed STEM opportunity takes an interdisciplinary approach in developing skills and knowledge in Mathematics and Science through hands-on, problem-based learning.
Out of the 52 – 8th grade students who were invited to enroll in this new course, 48 have taken advantage of this opportunity! These students will receive high school credit in both Mathematics and Science.
District 99 and Morton High School are two of the first school districts to offer this unique opportunity to not only enrich our children’s learning but also to earn high school credit and advance in the high school curriculum before becoming a high school student.
We are so proud of our Tigers!!!
