Celebrating Computer Science Education Week
Jacqueline Pisano

During the week of December 7th, Burnham students participated in a global movement called Hour of Code. Students live-streamed a webinar on how to build their own app. Then, students explored different coding programs to make cartoon characters dance to pop music. They used creativity and problem-solving skills to build underwater worlds in a Minecraft program. Under the guidance of Mrs. Gillette & Mrs. Swert, students also learned how A.I., artificial intelligence, and machine learning work to address world-wide problems. Students were so excited to use Flappy Code to write code that created their very own computer game.
