On August 30, 6th graders from Drexel came during math time and help kindergarten students to build animals, letters and/or numbers using connecting cubes. #Drexontrack
Teacher Kelly Manis interviewed our 6th grade students and asked them the following questions.
Question 1. What two things makes you excited about being a buddies for your kinder friends?
Students: We like that we are helping people and teaching them things for the future.
Question 2. Will being a buddy reader make you want to read more? Why or Why not?
Student one said: Yes, because reading more was one of my goals.
Student two said: Yes, because what I learn I can pass on to my Kindergarten friends.
Student three said: Yes, because I can learn more about different authors I might not know about.
Question 3. Does being a buddy reader make you think about becoming a teacher?
Student one said: Yes, because I like helping younger students than me. We can also teach them a lot more than they can know.
Student two said: Yes, because you are helping them learn, and teachers do that too.
Student three said: No
Ouch student three! But thanks for help our kinder friends
