Second graders in Ms. Lyon's science class have been busy, little engineers. These scientists designed and constructed bridges out of various materials including popsicle sticks, cardboard, aluminum, among other things. Working in teams, the students tested each material to see if it would absorb water and how many blocks it could hold. Then, based on their results, they designed the bridges to be both sturdy and waterproof! As in the engineering process they also wrote a report about the steps, results, and the materials used. In addition, they proudly displayed and discussed their bridges with parents, other students, teachers, and the admin staff. Way to go 2nd grade, you are building yourself a promising future!
