Ms. Coley's sixth-grade art students have been learning about op art. The main focus for this project was value and creating a two-dimensional artwork that appeared to be three dimensional.
The students used a hexagon to create a honeycomb pattern that they turned into cubes. They created tints, tones and shades using tempera paint. The class had to make sure they were putting the different values in the correct area on each cube.
The students were very successful in creating their 3D cube paintings.
