Last Friday, fifth graders at Cicero East Elementary School invited their families to a special afternoon filled with poetry.

Both reading personal poetry aloud and displaying written pieces all throughout the gymnasium, students let their creative juices flow, writing about everything from appreciation for their parents and families to describing their hobbies and talking about the world around them.
