Aida Rodriguez

"It's about my kids. It's about making sure that they feel safe. Curriculum and all that — yup, it's a part of it, right? But there's also another part of it — creating that environment where they feel safe, where they feel welcomed, and making sure that they know that their voice matters." At first, Aida Rodriguez's career began in jobs in the business sector. However, over the years, her true calling for working with children and families continued to nag at her, leading her to make a 360-degree turn, go back to school for master's degrees in education and hop into the world of learning and leading. Since making that decision, Rodriguez, now an ESL lead teacher at Sherlock Elementary School, has never looked back. She loves Cicero, she loves her school, but most importantly, she loves her students. For her kind heart, compassion for students from all walks of life and readiness to help out colleagues in need, Rodriguez was recognized as D99's Very Own!
