🐻⬇️ COLUMBUS WEST TEACHER KELSEY RYAN IS A CHICAGO BEARS CLASSROOM LEGEND!

Posted Date: 12/09/25 (03:15 PM)

Every once in awhile, a moment unfolds in our schools that captures pure joy — the kind of moment that reminds us why educators are truly the heartbeat of our communities. Today, that moment belonged to Ms. Kelsey Ryan, 1st Grade Special Education Teacher at Columbus West Elementary School — and now officially a Chicago Bears Classroom Legend.

What began as a completely ordinary day took an unforgettable turn when Ms. Ryan and her class walked into the school cafeteria. Instead of lunch tables and the usual routine, they were greeted with an extraordinary surprise: Chicago Bears Owner George McCaskey, members of Ms. Ryan's family, and a celebration years in the making.

In front of her students — who trust her, learn from her, and flourish because of her — Ms. Ryan was honored with a $1,000 check to support her classroom. The excitement on her students' faces said everything: their teacher is someone truly special, and now the world knows it too.

But DA BEARS didn't stop there.

As part of this incredible recognition, Ms. Ryan will be heading to this week's game against the Cleveland Browns with tickets gifted by the Chicago Bears, pre-game on-field passes, and a moment in the spotlight as she is featured on the video board in front of thousands of fans. A celebration fitting for someone who pours her heart into her work every single day.

This honor speaks volumes — not only about Ms. Ryan's extraordinary dedication and compassion — but also about the educators across Cicero District 99 who show up for students with unwavering commitment. We are deeply grateful to the Chicago Bears organization for recognizing the transformational work happening in our schools. They couldn't have chosen a more deserving recipient.

Ms. Ryan represents the very best of Columbus West and the entire district: Quiet strength. Unshakeable patience. A belief in every child's potential. And a love for teaching that genuinely changes lives.

When someone like that is celebrated, it becomes more than recognition — it becomes a moment of pride for our entire community.

Congratulations, Ms. Ryan. You've inspired all of us!
