🎳 ROLLING TOWARD GREATNESS: UNITY JR. HIGH BOWLING CONTINUES TO MAKE STATE HISTORY 🐯
Cicero District 99 proudly celebrates another remarkable season for our Unity Junior High Co-Ed Bowling Team — a program that continues to prove excellence knows no age.
In a season filled with determination, growth, and unforgettable accomplishments, our girls team earned an incredible 12TH PLACE FINISH in the entire state of Illinois, solidifying Unity as one of the premier junior high bowling programs in the state.
Leading the way were two outstanding student-athletes whose individual performances were nothing short of exceptional. Seventh grader Adamaris Guzman Esparza delivered an incredible season, finishing 23rd in the state as an individual competitor — a tremendous achievement that reflects both her talent and relentless work ethic. Eighth grader Genesis Rodriguez also showcased tremendous skill and composure on the biggest stage, finishing 47th in the state and further demonstrating the strength and depth of our program.
While the boys team narrowly missed qualifying for the state finals as a team, their season was equally impressive. Two individual bowlers advanced to compete at the prestigious Joliet Town and Country Bowling Alley, representing Unity with pride, determination, and excellence against some of the top competitors in Illinois.
What makes these accomplishments even more extraordinary is that District 99's bowling program is not even a decade old. In less than ten years, Unity has built a culture of success, discipline, and high-level competition that rivals programs with far longer histories. This is a testament of the dedication of our student-athletes, coaches, families, and the unwavering support of our school community.
The impact extends far beyond junior high. Morton High School continues to benefit from the strong foundation being built at Unity, as both the boys and girls bowling programs at Morton High School have grown into some of the most respected and successful programs in the entire state. The pipeline of excellence is real, and it starts here.
This is what education-based athletics is all about—creating opportunities, building confidence, and watching our students rise to the challenge and exceed expectations. Our students are not just participating; they are competing, thriving, and setting a standard of excellence for those who will follow.
To our Unity bowlers: your hard work, commitment, and pride in representing District 99 have made your entire community proud.
Outstanding job, Tigers—your future is bright, and this is only the beginning.
