👩🏫 FOR THE ONES WHO NEVER GIVE UP ON US — HAPPY TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK! 👨🏫
There are people in this world who choose a profession and then there are people who choose a purpose.
This week, we celebrate the ones who chose both: Teachers. Not just for what they teach but for who they are, every single day.
They are the first to arrive and the last to leave. They carry more than lesson plans — they carry the weight of every child who walks through their door. They notice the quiet ones. They encourage the unsure ones. They challenge the brilliant ones. They believe in the ones who don't yet believe in themselves.
They don't just teach math, reading, or science. They teach confidence. They teach resilience. They teach kindness. They teach what it means to try again... and again... and again.
They celebrate the victories no one else sees. A raised hand from a shy student. A sentence finally read aloud. A problem solved after days of frustration.
They show up on the hard days. They exhausting days. The days when their own lives are heavy, but they still choose to be a steady, caring presence for someone else's child.
They are mentors, role models, listeners, encouragers, protectors, and champions.
They wipe tears. They spark curiosity. They change lives... sometimes in ways they may never fully know.
And long after the school year ends, long after the lessons are forgotten, the impact of a teacher remains.
It lives in the confidence of a student who found their voice. In the courage of a child who kept going. In the dreams of a future shaped by someone who believed in them first.
To our incredible teachers in Cicero District 99 — you are seen, you are valued, and you are deeply appreciated.
You are the heart of our schools, the strength of our community, and the reason so many of our children grow into who they are meant to be.
This week... and every week... we thank you!
💙 Take a moment. Scroll through the album. Find your child's teacher (past and present). Leave a comment. Share a memory. Drop a reaction.
Let them know the difference they've made. Because they deserve to hear it. Every single one of them.
