🌈 THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE LIBERTY: STUDENTS BRING OZ TO LIFE WITH AN EPIC READER'S THEATER PERFORMANCE! 🌪️

Somewhere over the rainbow, magic came to life at Liberty Elementary School.

The curtain rose, the lights dimmed, and suddenly the gym of Liberty was transformed into the Yellow Brick Road as students delivered a breathtaking Reader's Theater performance of the timeless 1950 classic, The Wizard of Oz.

From Dorothy's unforgettable journey down the road of courage and friendship, to the Tin Man searching for a heart, the Scarecrow longing for wisdom, and the Cowardly Lion discovering bravery he had inside all along — every character stepped off the page and into the hearts of the audience. Toto trotted alongside the adventure, Glinda sparkled with grace, the Munchkins filled the room with energy and joy, and the Wicked Witch of the West made sure there was just the right amount of dramatic tension swirling through the air.

But perhaps nothing captured the crowd quite like the tornado scene.

In a moment that felt straight out of Oz itself, creativity and imagination collided in an absolutely epic performance sequence that left the audience stunned. It was theater magic. The kind of moment that reminds everyone in the room why the arts matter.

The singing was phenomenal. The reading was powerful. The emotion was real.

Reader's Theater is far more than students reading lines on a stage. It builds confidence, literacy, collaboration, public speaking, and creativity. It teaches students how to bring words to life — not just by reading them, but by feeling them. And at Liberty, those students didn't just perform a story... they transported an audience to another world.

Much like Dorothy discovering that "there's no place like home," this performance was a reminder that some of the greatest magic happens right inside our schools — where imagination is encouraged, talents are discovered, and young voices are given the chance to shine.

For one unforgettable evening, Liberty Elementary wasn't just a school.

It was Oz.

And judging by the applause, the smiles, and the emotional reactions from the audience, the students proved they already possessed the brains, the heart, and the courage all along.
