❤️ ONE TOWN, ONE CELEBRATION, THOUSANDS OF MEMORIES: CICERO BECAME THE HEART OF AMERICA'S 250TH CELEBRATION! 💙
Some days remind us why we're proud to call Cicero home.
Sunday's celebration of America's 250th Birthday was one of those days.
From the opening moments of the city-wide parade along Cermak Road to the final burst of fireworks lighting up the night sky, Cicero was filled with energy, patriotism, and hometown pride.
Families lined the streets waving American flags as parade participants made their way through town. Children watched with excitement, neighbors greeted one another, and spectators cheered as first responders, local leaders, community organizations, businesses, and beautifully restored American-made classic automobiles passed by. Cicero District 99 was honored to have our administrators march alongside Town President Larry Dominick, the Board of Trustees, and so many others who proudly serve this community each and every day.
After the parade, the celebration continued at Cicero Community Park, where families of all ages enjoyed an afternoon packed with fun. The sounds of laughter echoed throughout the park as children hurried from carnival rides to bounce houses, visited the petting zoo, rode ponies, laughed with balloon artists and talented jugglers, and looked up in amazement at towering stilt walkers. The scent of classic carnival favorites filled the air while friends and neighbors gathered to enjoy an afternoon that offered something for everyone.
As the sun began to set, the excitement continued as residents watched the Mexico vs. England World Cup match together before turning their attention skyward for a spectacular fireworks display. It was a breathtaking finale that brought an incredible day to a close and left smiles on faces both young and old.
While the attractions were unforgettable, what stood out most was seeing so many people come together. Families spent quality time with one another. Friends reconnected. Children played freely. Neighbors shared conversations. For a few hours, everyday routines gave way to something simple yet meaningful—a town celebrating side by side.
District 99 extends its sincere appreciation to Town President Larry Dominick, the Board of Trustees, our police officers, firefighters, Public Works crews, volunteers, event staff, local businesses, community organizations, and everyone whose dedication made this celebration possible. Your hard work created a day that so many families will remember for years to come.
And to every resident who joined us—thank you. Your enthusiasm, your pride, and your presence are what made this celebration truly memorable.
As our nation marks 250 years of history, Sunday's celebration reminded us that America's story is written every day in towns like Cicero—where neighbors look out for one another, families build lasting traditions, and communities grow stronger every time people come together.
Here's to our history. Here's to our hometown. And here's to the moments that remind us why Cicero is such a wonderful place to call home.
Happy 250th Birthday, America!
