🏆 FALL SPORTS ARE HERE AT UNITY — AND THIS COULD BE YOUR CHILD'S YEAR! 🐯
Sometimes all it takes is showing up and giving something new a chance.
Fall sports tryouts are beginning at Unity Junior High, and we want our 7th and 8th grade students to GET INVOLVED! Whether your student has been playing for years or has never participated in a sport before, they are encouraged to come out, try something new, meet new people, and discover what they can do.
No previous experience is required, and there is NO COST whatsoever. Don't let "I've never done it before" be the reason your student doesn't try.
This fall, students can choose from:
⚽ Boys Soccer
🏃♀️ Girls Cross Country
🏃♂️ Boys Cross Country
💃 Dance Team
🏀 Girls Basketball
🔥 And here's something especially important for students who want to get involved but may be nervous about trying out: CROSS COUNTRY HAS NO CUTS! If you come out and participate, YOU MAKE THE TEAM! This is a great opportunity to become part of Unity Athletics, get active, build confidence, make friends, and represent your school.
🕝 Tryouts take place immediately after school from 2:35-4:25 P.M.
📝 A signed permission slip is REQUIRED. Students can get a permission slip from their PE/Health teacher and must bring the signed slip on the day they attend tryouts.
📅 Each sport and grade has specific tryout dates. Please look carefully at the flyer for your student's correct date. Dance students should pay special attention to the required routine-learning date.
Parents, encourage your student to take the chance. They don't have to be the fastest. They don't have to be the strongest. They don't have to already know everything. They just have to be willing to SHOW UP.
School sports are about more than competition. They're an opportunity to develop discipline, confidence, friendships, teamwork, school pride, and memories that can last long after the season ends.
Your student may discover a sport they love, find a group of teammates who become close friends, or realize they're capable of something they never thought they could do. But they'll never know unless they try.
Be Ready. Be Committed. Work Hard.
1️⃣ Step One: Get the permission slip from your PE/Health teacher.
2️⃣ Step Two: Have a parent/guardian sign it.
3️⃣ Step Three: Bring it to your tryout and GIVE IT YOUR BEST!
