For more than 25 years, Elana Gordon has taught students the joy of reading in Cicero. 

When she was first hired right out of college, Gordon couldn't predict her entire teaching journey would unfold in Cicero. All these years later, she's happy the District took a chance on her and proud of the work she's done and countless students she's helped along the way.

For her years of tireless service and dedication to collaboration with her colleagues, at this week's Board meeting, Gordon was recognized as "D99's Very Own."
