🎸 FROM HOUSEHOLD ITEMS TO HIT INSTRUMENTS: LIBERTY 2ND GRADERS MAKE SOME NOISE! 🥁

Who knew the materials sitting around your house could become a musical instrument?

Liberty Elementary School's second graders have been busy exploring materials, their properties, and the many ways those materials can be used. But instead of simply reading about what they learned, these young scientists and creators put their knowledge to work!

Students were challenged to look at everyday materials in a completely new way and use their creativity, imagination, and problem-solving skills to design and build their very own musical instruments using materials they had at home.

Suddenly, ordinary objects weren't so ordinary anymore!

Students had to think about the properties of different materials, decide which ones would work best for their ideas, and discover how those materials could be combined to create something capable of making music.

Then came the big moment — showtime!

Each student brought their creation to school and presented their homemade instrument in front of the class, sharing what they had made and putting their creativity on display for their classmates.

What started as a lesson about materials became so much more: an opportunity to experiment, invent, create, communicate, and have a whole lot of fun along the way.
These 2nd graders proved an important lesson: sometimes the best way to understand how something works is to build something yourself.

Way to go, Liberty! You took everyday materials, added a little imagination, and turned science into music!
