🌳 CICERO RESIDENTS: THAT TREE ON YOUR BLOCK MIGHT NEED YOUR HELP! 🚨
Posted Date: 11/03/26 (11:27 AM)
A greener Cicero starts with YOU! And something as simple as sending an email could make a big difference in your neighborhood!
Did you know that up to 33% of newly planted trees in urban environments can struggle to adjust to their new surroundings? That means some of the young trees planted along our streets may not be growing as healthy and strong as they should.
Town of Cicero President Larry Dominick, the Board of Trustees & the Department of Housing are taking action! They're working to assess the health of recently planted trees throughout our community, identify those that may be struggling, and determine which ones need replacement.
Here's where we need your help:
Have you noticed a recently planted tree on your block that looks dead, dried out, or unhealthy? Don't just walk past it — let us know!
1️⃣ Send the street address where the tree is located
2️⃣ Include a picture if possible
3️⃣ Email information to amarquez@thetownofcicero.com
You can also request a tree to be planted next spring! Help bring more shade, beauty, and greenery to your street.
Healthy trees do more than make our neighborhoods look beautiful. They provide shade on hot summer days, help improve our air quality, support local wildlife, and make our streets more welcoming for everyone.
Every healthy tree is an investment in Cicero's future — and every resident can play a part in protecting that investment.
📢 SHARE this post so more Cicero residents know they can report struggling trees or request new ones! Tell your neighbor who might have a tree that needs attention!
Let's work together to keep Cicero growing, one tree, one block, and one neighborhood at a time! A greener Cicero starts with all of us! 🌱
