For your convenience, a FOIA Request Form is available, but it is not required.

Please describe the records you’re requesting as clearly and specifically as possible. The more details you provide, the faster the District can locate the records.

You may also indicate whether you would like:

• Electronic copies
• Paper copies
• To inspect the records in person

Once your request is received, the District will review it to determine whether the requested records are available under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act.

If portions of a record are exempt from disclosure, those sections may be redacted while the remaining information is released.

The District will respond within five (5) business days of receiving your request.

If additional time is permitted under Illinois FOIA, the District may extend the response period by up to five additional business days and will notify you in writing.

Most requests are provided at little or no cost.

• The first 50 black-and-white pages are provided free of charge.
• Additional copying fees may apply when permitted by law.
• Electronic records are generally provided electronically whenever available.

Once your request has been processed, you’ll receive the requested records or an explanation if all or part of the request cannot be fulfilled.
